Black Raven Size Comparisons

I know some people in the past have asked about various miniature lines size comparison.  I'm just doing my part in making it a little more clear.
On the left is a stand of Splintered Light Dwarves, from the "Splintered Lands" line of miniatures.  As you can see they're a bit big and would probably fit better with true 25mm.  Still great miniatures in their own right!.
The middle is a stand of Black Raven Foundry's Wraiths and on the right are Splintered Light's orcs.  The orcs are the "Heavy Hitters" and one command figure.  These are actually a bit larger than the rank and file orcs.

The left side is a stand of Splintered Light's Arthuran Wolftail warriors and on the right is an Arthurian Warlord.

The figure on the right is an old plastic 1/72 (I think Airfix) barbarian.  I really think the classic 1/72 range which run from 20mm - 24mm are the best size fit for the Black Raven Miniatures.

Hope this helps anyone look at any of these ranges.

  1. Thanks Atom. That's a very useful post. I'm in the process of replacing my 28mm rpg mini's with 15mm, so your timing could not have been better.

  2. These types of posts are really important as many of us purchase figures from different vendors. And oftentimes we need a scale comparison between manufacturers. Thanks for posting thins.

  3. The 1/72 barbarian is by Esci, later Italeri. http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=100

This is excellent by the way. From other comments on the web, I had suspected BRF were really 1/72 figures disguised as 15mm. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

  4. Thanks for reading! I'll put up more hopefully soon in the next few months or so.

Thanks for the clarification on the Esci fig. It was my second guess, I bought it back when I was in 5th grade so I couldn't remember.

  5. You're right about the Airfix model, he was my least favorite model out of that box. If you want some more I'll mail them to you sir.

When I first looked at the pics I thought they were 25mm's. You have painted them most excellently!
